Gardai probe brutal machete attack on man linked to John Gilligan
Gardai are investigating a savage daylight attack in Neilstown where an associate of the infamous gangster John Gilligan was brutally assaulted with a machete.
The shocking incident was caught on camera, showing the victim on the ground as he’s struck repeatedly with the blade. He sustained severe arm injuries and was immediately taken to hospital for urgent care after the assault this afternoon.
Insiders suggest the violence could be related to a local feud that’s been brewing. Confirming the probe into the attack, a Garda spokesperson said to Dublin Live: “Gardai received report of an incident of assault that occurred at approximately 3:45pm today, Tuesday, 11th of June 2024 on Neilstown Road, Dublin 22.”
They added: “One male was conveyed to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.” The investigation into the brutal attack is currently underway.
