Fashion fans rush to buy bra-friendly dress from Nobody’s Child

Nobody’s Child’s Red Floral Zelda Midi Dress is available to buy now and it’s already selling like hot cakes online

The no-iron dress is ideal for packing in your holiday suitcase(Nobody’s Child)

Fashion lovers, run don’t walk, because Nobody’s Child has just released ‘the dress you’ve all been waiting for’. And we’re expecting it to sell out within weeks.

The retailer teased the outfit on social media eight weeks ago, with shoppers desperate to know when it would launch, commenting “When is this arriving please?? I have a wedding I need this dress for” and “Guys it’s still not on the web? I’m checking constantly!”

Now, the wait is over. The celeb-loved brand’s Red Floral Zelda Midi Dress launched online this week, and ticks a whole bunch of boxes for fashion fans.

Priced at £89, the dress is crafted entirely from recycled materials making it ideal for sustainability-conscious shoppers. Available in sizes 4-18, it’s bound to be a hit with holiday makers, wedding guests and just about everyone in between this summer.

The round-neck dress boasts a classic A-line skirt that skims the body, with a beautiful open back and keyhole fastening. For many, this would spark worry about how to wear a bra with it, but the dress has a smartly designed bow detail that covers thin straps, making it completely underwear-friendly.

The dress is completed with on trend puff sleeves and a timeless floral print. But what’s more is it’s crafted from a crinkled satin material which means you won’t need to iron it, ideal for throwing in the suitcase for your next getaway.

After launching, it immediately became a bestseller on the Nobody’s Child website, with hundreds of people adding it to their basket, according to the retailer. Fans complimented the dress on the brand’s Instagram account, commenting: “Love it”, “Gorgeous” and “Dreamy”, though one added: “Lovely! If only it was a lovely cotton material.”

There’s been much debate around whether cotton or recycled polyester is a better option for the environment, but there are pros and cons to both. Recycled polyester is typically made from post-consumer plastic bottles, and therefore is an attractive option for those looking for fashion that minimises plastic waste going into landfill and oceans. However, it still requires a lot of energy to produce, albeit not as much as virgin polyester.

Meanwhile, cotton is a natural, infinitely recyclable material lauded for its breathability and texture, but has been criticised for the amount of water and land it requires. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference, with Nobody’s Child using a mix of both in their designs.

One thing is certain, though – this crinkled satin midi dress is a total showstopper. Styled with heels, it’s a glam choice for a special occasion, but it can equally be dressed down with a pair of flat sandals for a summer’s day.
