Man Utd ‘agree personal terms’ with Jarrad Branthwaite as transfer claim emerges

Manchester United have reportedly made significant progress in their pursuit of Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, according to The Times.

Having decided to stick with Erik ten Hag instead of gambling on a new manager, the Red Devils are now focusing on revamping their squad this summer.




The club is anticipated to strengthen their team at both ends of the field, with securing a forward to back up Rasmus being one of their main objectives.

Ten Hag also has his sights set on signing at least one centre-back this summer, and Everton’s Branthwaite has been identified as a prime target although he has other admirers within the Premier League.

However, United seem to have gained an advantage over their rivals, with The Times reporting that they have reached an agreement on personal terms with the England international’s representatives.

Even if reports are true, United fans shouldn’t expect confirmation soon. Times Sport state that no agreement with Everton has been reached over a transfer fee, which is thought to be the biggest hurdle for any club wishing to sign Branthwaite. The Toffees value the defender at around £70-80m, MEN Sport understands.
