The €19.99 Lidl Ireland buy that will banish weeds without harmful chemicals

LIDL Ireland fans are set to be racing to the tills to snap up a gadget that will banish unwanted weeds from your patio.

The Gas Weed Burner kill weeds without using harmful chemicals or unwanted pesticides and specifically targets the invasive plants.

The Parkside product has hit the shelves of the middle aisle in Lidl’s across Ireland today and will set customers back just €19.99.

And the nifty little gadget boasts more than one function.

Lidl Ireland boasted that the product is perfect for chemical-free clearance of weeds and mentioned that it is “also ideal” for lighting charcoal, defrosting or thawing.

Included in the packaging is the gas cartridge.

And the nifty device features practical piezo ignition and adjustable flame regulation. It is 89cm total length.

It’s suitable for a range of areas, including beds and borders, paths, driveways and gravel areas.

However, those hoping to snatch up the product may have to act fast as Lidl Ireland bosses said it will only be in stores from June 13th until June 19th.

Flame weeding is very effective, especially when weeds are caught early.

The optimal time for thermal weed control is in early spring when weeds are still small and don’t have any reserves stored in their root system.

The heat boils water in the plant’s cells, causing them to burst.

It essentially destroys the cell structure in the leaves, so the plant can’t photosynthesize and dies.

If the stem is burnt, water and nutrients can’t move from the roots to the top of the plant, killing it.

Lidl said it boasts “practical privacy and wind protection” for your garden, balcony or patio.

The new addition is 200 x 150cm and is durable, weatherproof and UV-resistant.
