Galway helicopter rescue in two ‘aeromedical’ missions just hours apart
An Irish Air Corps emergency aeromedical mission was flown into University Hospital on Friday 14 June 2024 just hours after successfully completing another operation.
AIRCORPS112 was reported as inbound to UHG on Friday afternoon 14 June, as members of the public grew concerned over the presence of the chopper in the skies on the way to the hospital.
Galway Helicopter Movements & Overflights, the popular heli watch group, reported on the nature of the flight shortly after Galwegians noticed the chopper inbound. AIRCORPS112 was tasked with an Emergency Aeromedical Service and tackled the job with the AgustaWestland AW-139, a 15-seater twin-engine helicopter.
