Wolfe Tones legend Brian Warfield writes emotional ‘goodbye song’ for final show

The Wolfe Tones legend Brian Warfield has written an emotional “goodbye song” for diehard fans at their final show.

The 78-year-old admitted he won’t be able to hold back the tears during his last concert at the 3Arena in October, saying it will be a “bittersweet” moment. Speaking exclusively to us, he told us: “We’re definitely going to do something special. I’ve written a goodbye song for everybody over the years.




“It’s a story. It’s goodbye to all my friends, every story has an end, it breaks my heart to say a last goodbye to you and everyone. But the story lives on in the music and in song, but it breaks my heart to say a last goodbye.

“It’s a bittersweet moment and it is going to be sad. I’m going to try and make it as happy as I can but I will have a tear in my eye. There is no doubt about it.”

The Come Out Ye Black and Tans hitmaker said fans who have bought tickets to their final batch of concerts this year are in for a treat.

He continued: “We go out on a high and we leave the people with a happy memory of all the group and the people that were in it. I think that is the best way to go.
