M&S shoppers ‘ditch’ Olaplex for serum that works ‘magic’ on thinning hair

Marks and Spencers shoppers are raving over a product that they swear is even better than Olaplex. The Triple Bond Complex, which comes from Living Proof – the brand behind the cult dry shampoo best loved by beauty buffs – is being compared to the cult classic brand with some shoppers insisting that they’ve even ditched it.

The weekly treatment is specifically engineered to make your hair 8x stronger, smoother and shinier hair from the very first use. You use it fresh out of the shower and the triple bond complex gets to work.

It’s easier than some other treatments on the market as you don’t need to wash it out. It’s brought in hundreds of glowing reviews on Marks & Spencer across both the full and travel sized versions of the product.

One Olaplex fan said: “I used to be a diehard Olaplex girl until I finally gave some other products a shot and wow, I’m so glad I tried this bond complex by Living Proof! I’ve heard of the brand before but didn’t know much about it and loved how simple the instructions were.

“After each shower, I towel dried my hair and worked the product onto my middle and ends. I let it sit for a few minutes and then combed my hair out and could feel the product helping with detangling, which is usually a long process for me. From there I blowdried my hair and loved how soft it felt!

“Since it helped with detangling, I noticed that I wasn’t shedding as much and didn’t lose as much hair after combing it out post shower. Would definitely recommend, only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is that it doesn’t seem to be an everyday product and I still found myself wanting to reach for a hair oil to pair with it.”

A second shopper wrote: “Sooo far I have been loving this product! I’m not even going to lie my hair felt stronger and healthier after using it ! I will definitely keep using it. I have tried every single hair treatment, I swear. But after a single use, this one actually cuts down on frizz…..my hair is shiny, silky, and photo worthy after this product. Plus, you only need a little bit of product. It is truly my new favorite.”

A third said: “I have very damaged hair from over processing, but I’ve found this product to really help the appearance of my hair. I discovered it from a M&S beauty box gift, and once the 19ml tube was finished I decided to splash out on some more!”

A fourth added: “This is expensive but a little goes a long way. On damp hair it lays a great basis for styling/blow drying. For me even better than the same brands 5-in-1 styling treatment which is also good.”

It is worth noting that the £19 product is only 15ml however you can get the larger 45ml for £42. It’s worth keeping in mind that ‘a little goes a long way’ with this product. There are other products on the market that promise similar results, such as Olaplex’s Bond Repair.

You can get the full Living Proof range on M&S and customers can receive a Free Living proof gift with purchase when they purchase any 2 or more full sized Living proof products until stock last on M&S. The brand’s cult favourite product reccomended by fashion and beauty editor Rachel Pugh is the £27 Perfect hair Day (PhD) Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo, and is well worth having in your beauty bag for holidays, festivals and work.

Living proof’s formula cleans and cares for hair by acting like a rinse-out shampoo, eliminating oil and sweat while leaving hair with just-washed softness and shine.

This makes it ideal for staying fresh at a music festival when your hair could be a little greasier than you’d want. It’s no surprise that the product sells every 30 seconds with it having rave reviews. It’s suitable for all hair types including oily and coloured hair and is said to leave no residue behind at all. It’s used just like any classic dry shampoo, you section your hair and then spray it across the area.

One shopper said: “I only wash my hair 2-3 times per week and this keeps my hair looking healthy, clean, and manageable. Does a great job of absorbing oil at the roots and scalp without weighing down my hair.”

A second penned: “I love the PHD Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo! It’s a game-changer for my hair care routine. Unlike other dry shampoos I’ve tried, this one leaves my hair feeling incredibly clean and fresh without any of that heavy, powdery residue. I use it every day, even when I wash my hair, to keep oil at bay and maintain that freshly washed feeling. It’s perfect for boosting my hair volume and extending the time between washes without sacrificing cleanliness or comfort. This dry shampoo has truly become an essential part of my daily routine.”

A significant number of reviewers have complained that their product wouldn’t spray after just two uses so it is worth making sure you’re following the instructions on how to use the spray. Aveda’s Shampowder Dry Shampoo is a non aerosol option that would eliminate this problem although the product itself doesn’t have a cult following.
