My 10-minute routine is a free alternative to Botox – I saw results in 3 months

A Reddit user admitted that they have “very visible lines” across their forehead that they hate.

After using Botox many times to smooth them out, they wanted a cheaper option instead of “injecting chemicals” into their body.

Redditor Girlwithpen came to the rescue and shared a useful technique in a post that reduces significant lines.

They recommended face yoga, which is a facial massaging method.

They said that they have been doing face yoga for six years and have a ten-minute routine they do every morning before showering.

The Redditor revealed that they alternate between two similar routines on different days.

“It takes about 3 months to see results but the change is exponential if you do it every day and follow the routine,” they explained.

Not only is it effective, but they added that it is also extremely relaxing.

They recommended looking on YouTube for related videos if you’re unsure.

“Search daily face massage or face yoga,” they advised.

The Redditor said there are three key “steps” to the skincare process.

The first step is to find two or three routines that you’re comfortable with and stick with them.

“It is important to work the same muscles in the same way over time for it to work,” they explained.

In the next step, they shared a money-saving tip.

“Don’t waste your money on specialized massage oils, which have chemicals. Purchase a jar of cooking coconut oil,” they suggested.

The whole jar should last a year.

“You will only need maybe 3/4 of a teaspoon for the massage each day,” they added.

Lastly, they said to commit to completing videos that are around 10 minutes long to build endurance.

After several times, you will remember it, so you can set a timer and go through your regular routine.

There are also additional benefits to facial yoga.

“Face yoga or face massage as some people call it is also amazing for your complexion,” they said.

“You are drawing extra blood to your facial muscles and tissues for those ten minutes that means additional oxygen.”

They added that as you move your hands around your face, you are also exfoliating your skin for that period.

Anti-aging tips and ‘superstar’ products

Dr. Anatalia Moore is a GP and skin specialist with over 11 years of clinical experience.

She told The U.S. Sun that her goal is to equip patients with the knowledge they need to take control of their skin journey.

She said the fundamental basics of a beauty routine are the same for all ages — it should include an effective cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.

“Moisturizers are my superstar, even over products containing active ingredients,” she said.

“Finding a well-balanced moisturizer that provides the right kind of hydration, replaces natural oils, and seals them in, literally stabilizes your skin.

“This in itself quickly can soften the appearance of fine lines and texture, as often these are worsened by dehydration.

“It also allows the skin to function as it should.

“It then can heal faster, which, among many things, can lead to fewer lines and wrinkles, less flares of dermatitis and rosacea, and shorter-lived, milder breakouts.”
