Exciting Galway development at old Caribou location as new venture teased
It seems like an exciting new development is in the works at the site of the former Caribou bar in Galway City.
Caribou left locals heartbroken when it closed its doors for the final time at the end of April. According to a service that reports on all pub openings and closures, the company that owned and operated Caribou in Galway planned to open a bar in Dublin called Caribou.
Many were wondering what would happen to the old Caribou location on Woodquay given the important role the pub played in revitalising that whole area.

Well, now we have a tease of what’s coming in the not-too-distant future. A sign placed outside the premises shows that the new owners are looking for staff. In particular, the owners are looking for bar and floor staff, a commis chef and a kitchen porter. Anyone who wants to apply can email their CV to info@caddel.ie.
The closure of Caribou certainly went against the grain of recent months with several formerly closed premises reopening to much fanfare.
Not only has Electric recently but Cuba nightclub, which had been closed for over a decade, also recently announced its plans to reopen.
Cuba, which is located on Prospect Hill, announced reopening plans earlier this year. Staff at McGettigans confirmed to Galway Beo that the club was reopening and would be starting up with two nights a week on Fridays and Saturdays.
