‘Magic 20C’ possible this week in Dublin amid ‘promising’ future forecast

The “magic 20C” is possible this week in Dublin amid a “promising” future forecast for the upcoming few days.

Father’s Day in Dublin will be a warm one, with temperatures hitting highs of 18C, but some showers are still possible throughout the day. However, those showers could be the last we see for a few days – with a promising temperature peak hopefully coming on Thursday.




Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather said of the week ahead: “After today’s showers there will be very little rain up to Friday, and temperatures will slowly creep up, with the magic 20C possible in the South and East by Thursday with good sunny spells. Friday and weekend still uncertain, but risk of rain moving in.”

And, according to one other boffin, the good times may continue into next weekend. Weather Alerts Ireland posted: “The main European model is now forecasting warmer air for next weekend.

“The best bit of news is into the following week, warmer air could push up and stick around as high pressure begins to push north-east past Ireland, and this would allow warmer air to push up from the South. Still plenty of time for change but looks promising so fingers crossed.”

But Met Eireann’s day-by-day verdict for the week ahead is less promising at the moment. Here is their forecast for the week:
