Italian tennis sensation Jannik
Sinner remained number one in the updated ATP world rankings on
Monday after recently becoming the first Italian to top them.
Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated the 22-year-old Italian in
the semi-finals of the French Open this month, is second while
tennis great Novak Djokovic is third.
Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti and Luciano Darderi are 30th and 34th
respectively, with Matteo Arnaldi 35th.
Former Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini, who is recovering
form after being dogged by injuries for two years, climbed 30
places to 65th thanks to him reaching the final of last week’s
ATP Stuttgart grass-court tournament.
In the women’s rankings, Italy’s Jasmine Paolini remains in the
top 10 in seventh place after reaching the French Open final.
