ALERT: Irish babies at risk of choking as popular soother recalled for dangerous fault

A brand of baby soother bought in Ireland is being recalled due to a major risk of injury.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), TJX Ireland Unlimited Company (TK Maxx and Homesense) is carrying out a recall of their Dreamgro Mermaid Lullaby Travel Soother with Stroller Hook.

According to the CCPC, the product features a gold star decoration which may detach easily creating a small part which could then be swallowed and pose a choking hazard.

The brand is Dreamgro. The model numbers are DF156-MT, DF156-LI. The product code shown on the price sticker and the receipt will be either 916223 or 916228. The product is available in two colours – blue and pink. The barcode and batch number are unknown.

Customers should stop using the product immediately and return it to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund.

The product was on sale in TK Maxx and Homesense stores April 2024 and May 2024, and over a dozen were sold.

If customers have any further queries in relation to this recall, they are advised to email TK Maxx at customerservice@tjxeurope.com or call on 01 2476126.
