Disqualified Laois driver arrested for the third time in a month

A disqualified driver in Co Laois is due back in court again after they were caught driving numerous times while disqualified.

The Laois Roads Policing Unit were out on patrol in Portlaoise Town in Co Laois on the evening of Saturday June 15 when they caught an individual driving a car while disqualified from driving.

It then turned out that this is the third time is the past month that the driver has been arrested behind the wheel.

Laois Gardaí subsequently seized the vehicle and the driver has been charged and will appear before Portlaoise District Court.

A spokesperson from An Garda Síochána confirmed: “Laois Roads Policing Unit on patrol in Portlaoise town on Saturday evening arrested the driver of this vehicle who was driving while disqualified.

“This is the third time in the past month that this individual has been arrested behind the wheel. The vehicle was seized and the driver charged to appear again before Portlaoise District Court,” concluded the spokesperson.
