Fort Smith Public School District announced Cody Wilmath as Fort Smith Northside’s varsity boys basketball coach and athletic coordinator on Tuesday.
Wilmath has served as assistant coach and interim head coach at North Little Rock since 2022. He also worked as the junior high boys coach at Mountain Home and Ashdown.
“We are very excited to have Coach Wilmath join the FSPS Athletics & Activities Family,” FSPS Athletics Director Michael Beaumont said in a press release. “Coach Wilmath has had much success as an assistant and head coach everywhere he has been. His championship experience at the 6A level made him our choice to lead Northside High School and its basketball program.”
Before his public school experience, he was an assistant basketball coach for Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas. Wilmath holds a B.S. in Sports Management from Ecclesia College and a Master’s in Education from Southern Arkansas University.
