Prince Edward, Sophie mark major milestone after earning the King Charles’ favour
Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, marked a new milestone with a special announcement.
The couple, which has earned the trust of King Charles and become the ‘real power’ behind the throne during its difficult times, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a never-before-seen portrait.
Edward married Sophie, the daughter of a car tyre dealer and a receptionist, 25 years ago, on June 19, 1999, at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Taken on June 10th, by photographer Chris Jelf in the gardens of Bagshot Park, Edward and Sophie lovingly pose for the camera all smiles in portrait.
Sophie was dressed in tan suede jacket to match Edward’s tweed gilet. She paired her look with a stripped t-shirt and green trousers, Meanwhile, Edward wore a white full-sleeved shirt and blue trousers.
The portrait comes after the pair were prominently seen in the royal family inner circle at the annual Trooping the Colour balcony, where they were also joined by Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Royal Correspondent for The Daily Beast shared that Edward and Sophie’s “loyalty earned them seats in the royal inner circle.”
He added, “Sophie and Edward bridge the generations and will be part of King William’s reign.”
