Borough of Sport: watch the tennis for free on big screens in Merton

Merton Council and the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), are bringing the Wimbledon Championships Big Screens back to the Canons in Mitcham and Morden Park.

Canons House and Morden Park will each have a 20 square metre high-definition screen in place from Middle Saturday (6 July) to final Sunday (14 July), with entry free of charge to guests and no advance booking required.

The screens will show Championships action each day from the start of play until the parks close, with deckchairs, picnic areas and food and drink available to buy. Attendees are welcome to spend the afternoon at the screens, or to pop in on their journey to and from the tennis grounds in Wimbledon.

Instructors from nearby Better leisure centres will deliver pop-up tennis courts and taster sessions, and a number of other activities will take place across the week including yoga sessions and circuits classes. A children’s film will also be screened on middle and finals weekend.

Check back to this page for the timetable of activities, or follow Merton Council on social media for updates.

A third screen, organised by Love Wimbledon, will also be showing tennis across the fortnight on The Wimbledon Piazza
