Steve Jobs’ suits and bow tie up for auction

The outfits Steve Jobs wore before adopting his famous turtleneck are heading to auction.

They include the navy blue pin-striped Brioni suit worn by Jobs in the marketing photograph for the 1984 Macintosh computer release. The suit is estimated to fetch between $20,000 and $30,000.

This suit is notable for being part of the promotional campaign for the Macintosh, which was famously introduced in Ridley Scott’s iconic Super Bowl commercial.

Also included is a taupe and white striped wool suit by DiMitri Couture. Its estimate is also $20,000 to $30,000. It was worn by Jobs at his friend Ben Rosen’s retirement from Morgan Stanley in 1980 in Palo Alto, California.

Another notable item is the maroon and white polka dot Perry Ellis bow tie. This bow tie, estimated at $4,000 to $6,000, was likely worn by Jobs during a keynote speech and featured in a slideshow created by his team for his 30th birthday celebration in 1985.

The items are all part of Julien’s Auctions Spotlight: History and Technology sale – an exclusive auction featuring remarkable items that document key moments in 20th-century history and personal artifacts from influential cultural figures of the era.
