A woman in her 60s tragically died having arrived on a plane that landed in Dublin Airport on Tuesday night.

Gardaí said they and emergency services were alerted to a medical emergency on board the flight which, it is understood, had flown in from Malaga in Spain.

“A female in her 60s was pronounced deceased a short time after landing,” gardai said.

“Her body was removed to the morgue at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.”

It is understood that foul play is not suspected.

It has also been suggested that the woman was from Dublin and had been travelling with her son and daughter and a friend on the Ryanair flight.

The airline has been contacted for comment.
