What’s on? Top 10 TV and streaming tips for Friday

Lots of music content today, including Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood, the Isle of Wight Festival 2024, the story of legendary night club Studio 54, while Jessica Alba stars in action movie Trigger Warning . . .

Pick of the Day

Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood, Discovery+

Just ahead of her visit to Ireland, here’s a documentary about the most contentious issue she’s faced in her career.

This two-part series digs into the $300 million dispute between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun

which began after Braun bought the rights to Swift’s first six albums in June 2019.

Over two hour-long episodes, there’s a comprehensive examination of the feud, exploring the complexities of music ownership, gender dynamics in the music industry.

It also explores the power of fan influence, while delving into the two polarised sides of the dispute allowing viewers to form their own opinion.

One will explore Swift’s side that the sale was conducted without consulting her and that she has since been blocked from buying back her masters, while the other examines Braun’s allegations that Swift refused to negotiate and instead incited a public feud by turning her massive fan base on him.

Ironically (or maybe not), Braun announced his retirement from music management just last Monday.
