Is Bryson DeChambeau playing this weekend? How US Open champ is doing at LIV Golf Nashville

Five days after winning his second U.S. Open, Bryson DeChambeau shot a 4-under 67 in the first round of the inaugural LIV Golf Nashville tournament Friday at The Grove near Franklin, Tennessee.

He will start the second round on No. 2 at 12:15 p.m. CT Saturday. He is three shots behind leader Abraham Ancer, who opened with a 7-under 64.

It has been a whirlwind week for DeChambeau. He and the U.S. Open trophy went on a tour that included stops on the “Today” show and the “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” DeChambeau and the trophy also made an appearance on Lower Broadway in Nashville.

On Friday, DeChambeau moved into a tie for the lead when he made the last of four consecutive birdies on the 10th hole. But he dropped out of the lead with a bogey on No. 12. He made par on each of the final six holes except for a birdie on No. 15.

Bryson DeChambeau is tied for second at 7-under in the second round of LIV Golf Nashville on Saturday at The Grove near Franklin, Tennessee.

He is one shot behind leader Tyrrell Hatton, who is at 8-under.

DeChambeau has played 13 holes in his round so far. He has birdies on his last two holes, Nos. 13 and 14. He is tied with Sam Horsfield, John Catlin and Lee Westwood.

Bryson DeChambeau is two shots off the lead at the LIV Golf Nashville tournament halfway through the second round on Saturday.

DeChambeau is at 5-under for the tournament and 1-under for his round and in a five-way tie for fourth. John Catlin and Tyrrell Hatton lead at 7-under and Abraham Ancer is at 6-under.

After a birdie on the eighth hole, DeChambeau finished his first nine with pars on No. 9 and 10.

There hasn’t been any movement in the second round of the LIV Golf Nashville tournament on Saturday for US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau.

DeChambeau has played six holes and he’s still 4-under and three shots off the lead, which is where he started the second round.

DeChambeau is in an eight-way tie for seventh, including with Phil Mickelson. They trail leaders Abraham Ancer and Tyrrell Hatton, who are at 7-under.

John Catlin is alone in third at 6-under. Louis Oosthuizen, Sam Horsfield and Sebastian Munoz are tied for fourth at 5-under.

DeChambeau dropped out of the top 10 with a bogey on No. 5, his fourth hole, but got back in with a birdie on No. 7.

Mickelson has three birdies in his first six holes Saturday.

DeChambeau started the round at 4-under three shots off the lead and that’s where he is through his first three holes. The started his round with a par on No. 2, then had a bogey at No. 3 before a birdie on No. 4.

DeChambeau is in an eight-way tie for fourth behind leaders Tyrrell Hatton and Abraham Ancer, who are at 7-under. John Catlin is alone in third at 6-under.

Where is LIV Golf playing today?

The inaugural LIV Golf Nashville tournament is being held June 21-23, 2024, at The Grove, a private, gated golf community located 36 miles southeast of downtown Nashville near Franklin, Tennessee.

The Grove will play as a par-71 course at 7,297 yards.

Escalante Golf, which owns several courses where LIV events have been played, such as Pumpkin Ridge (Oregon) and The International (Massachusetts), purchased The Grove in October 2023.
