Information below is relevant until further updates are provided here or on our Supply and Service Updates section.
Following a burst to a large water main this morning, Uisce Éireann is working to restore the water supply as quickly as possible to customers in parts of Swords, Portmarnock and Malahide.
Water services engineers are working throughout the day with the aim of completing repair works this evening, with supplies due to return in Swords from 5pm, with Portmarnock and Malahide returning after 10pm tonight as the reservoir recovers.
Speaking about the unplanned outage, Uisce Éireanns, Brendan Cahalin said: “Our crews are working to return normal supplies as soon as possible, we regret any inconvenience as a result of this issue and thank the local community for their patience.”
Following repair works, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to fully restore to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact us on X @IWCare with any queries. For updates please visit the Water Supply Updates section of our website.
