Buttler and Jordan demolish USA as England reach semi-finals with dominant victory

England and USA faced off in a decisive Super Eights encounter in Barbados – with both sides still able to qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semi-finals.

And Jos Buttler’s side won so emphatically – by ten wickets – they confirmed their semi-final berth with West Indies and South Africa still to play later on Sunday for the remaining spot from the group.

The USA were 115 all out, with an over remaining – having lost the last five wickets for no runs.

Chris Jordan took four wickets in the 19th over to wrap up the innings, after Adil Rashid had earlier taken two to make him England’s joint-highest wicket-taker in Men’s T20 World Cups.

And England reached 117 for no loss in just under ten overs, with Jos Buttler hitting an epic 83 not out.

England fell to South Africa last time but with a win over the West Indies under their belts, they had the edge over the USA – who had no wins in this stage as yet but could still have gone through if they won decisively enough today.

England made one change, Chris Jordan replacing Mark Wood, with the USA naming an unchanged line-up.
