Live: Australia chasing imposing total after magical Rohit Sharma innings at T20 World Cup
It’s hard to know exactly what to make of that Indian total.
Rohit Sharma made it look like an absolute road out there during his knock off 92 off 41 deliveries, but the rest of his teammates found the going a little tougher.
After being smacked for 114 in the first 10 overs, Australia dragged it back in the last five overs.
Suryakumar Yadav calls Rohit’s innings “a dream”.
“He batted beautifully,” he says.
“Before coming here we talked about what brand of cricket we wanted to play and he showed us the way.
“It’s a good score, it’s a good wicket, but there’s hopefully something there for the bowlers and we’ll defend it.”
Australia will need to break its T20 World Cup record chase if they’re to run this down. The good news is that came at this exact venue when they mowed down 197 against Pakistan in the 2010 edition of the tournament.
