The new business looks set to be a coffee shop, if locals are to be believed. However, it won’t be your average one.
Oranmore looks set to welcome a CBD coffee shop and some locals are not too happy about it.
The town isn’t shy of a coffee shop or two with one local venting their frustration at the news, saying: “another one!!”.
Another local questioned the proposed location for the business given that it would be right across from a school. The concerned local said: “A CBD coffee shop, across from the schools. Great idea.”
A new business looks like it won’t be the only new addition to Oranmore.
Plans have been submitted to construct a new housing estate at a cost of €27 million.
The new housing estate is planned for Carton and Garraun South, Oranmore after Marshall Yards Development Company Ltd submitted a planning application.
The €27 million investment would transform the area with well over 150 new homes as well as amenities such as a creche as well as brand new pedestrian/cyclist facilities along the R338 public road connecting to Oranmore rail station.
