Re-turn information roadshow stops off at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick
RE-TURN, the operator of the Deposit Return Scheme in Ireland will be setting up shop in the Crescent Shopping Centre this Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29.
This comes as part of a series of “consumer roadshows” that Re-turn are running nationwide this summer about the Deposit Return Scheme that was introduced in February.
The Deposit Return Scheme is an EU initiative that aims to increase recycling rates of drinks containers. Simply put, it is the 15c and 25c deposits added to your plastic bottles and cans that you return to vending machines in supermarkets to get your money back.
A team from Re-turn will be answering questions about the Deposit Return Scheme and providing helpful tips.
They will also be happy to teach consumers about the scheme’s “positive impact on energy, water, landfill, and CO2 savings”, and how it is “contributing to a sustainable future for generations to come”.
Niamh Kelly, the head of marketing & communications at Re-turn, proudly stated that “the Deposit Return Scheme continues to achieve great results, with over 200 million bottles and cans now returned thanks to the Irish public”.
She encouraged Limerick residents to stop by if they have any questions about the scheme, saying that “It’s a great chance to get an understanding of why and how the Scheme is important for the environment and a sustainable Ireland”.
