LATEST: Kildare hotel gets green light for major expansion

A planning application submitted to Kildare County Council for the expansion of a Kildare hotel has been approved. 

Orlego Limited sought approval for the construction of an extension at the rear of the Clanard Court Hotel on the Dublin Road in Athy. 

The works include a bar to service the existing garden area. 

Also in the designs is a staff canteen and toilets. 

A covered external seating area is also being planned. 

The total floor area of the development is 92 square metres. 

The estimated value of the project is over €260,000, according to Construction Information Services database.
