‘Daddy’s a bit exhausted’ Brian admits with 1st glimpse of newborn life at home

BRIAN Dowling has admitted “Daddy is a bit exhausted” as he shared the first glimpse of newborn life at home with second daughter Blu.

Brian and Arthur, already parents to one-year-old Blake, shared the first glimpse of life as a family of four.

Brian posted an adorable clip of himself and baby Blu dancing around the kitchen to Taylor Swift‘s tune Shake It Off.

The 46-year-old looked super cosy in a pair of striped patterned pyjamas as he held Blu on his chest and swayed to the beat of the music.

As he rocked the newborn, he said: “Baby Blake is dancing to Taylor Swift and so is daddy and Blu.”

The dad-of-two encouraged little Blake to keep dancing as he said: “Come on Blake, shake it off!”

The Big Brother star then hysterically turned to the camera smiling and confessed: “Guys, daddy is a bit exhausted, but we’re just going to keep shaking it off.”

The Kildare star continued to dance to the music with a big smile on his face as he looked over at Blake and squeezed his new baby tight.

Brian introduced his new baby girl to the world yesterday morning with a heart-melting post on Instagram.

He said: “Please be upstanding for the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blu Amar Rose Dowling.

“Blu was delivered safely on Sunday, June 23rd at 13:30hours weighing 6lbs, 2ozs.

“Myself and Papa are absolutely besotted and actually can’t believe we now have two little beauties to keep us on our toes.”

Brian’s sister Aoife once again acted as surrogate for the pair.

Speaking before the birth, the couple said: “We have already been so blessed with Blake we can’t believe how lucky we are as parents to welcome another baby to our family.

“Blake is going to be the best big sister ever.”

SISTER GRATITUDE

Brian said sister Aoife was once again a “superstar”.

He said: “We are, as always, FOREVER GRATEFUL.

“You stayed so calm, considering it wasn’t exactly the birth plan we had initially hoped for.

“Baby Blu was adamant to arrive on Sunday, the 23rd of June & nothing or no one was going to stop her.”

Brian added: “Big Sister Blake, you have been activated.”

The celeb couple’s pals were left thrilled at the pair’s big announcement.

Una Healy said: “Congratulations to you all.”

Pippa O’Connor, who attended the couple’s baby shower last week, added: “Baby Blu you little beauty. Welcome to the world.”

Today Show host Sinead Kennedy said: Oh wow! Congratulations to you all! Happy Birthday Blu. Blake will be the best big sister I’m sure.”

TV chef Donal Skehan wrote: “WAHEY! Huge congrats to you both and go on Aoife! Cannot wait to meet the latest addition! Loads of love!!!”

Brian last week confirmed he’d be taking the summer off from his two major hosting gigs – Virgin Media’s Six O’Clock Show and the 98FM breakfast show.

OFF AIR

Brian is due back on air on the Six O’Clock show in August and on the radio in mid-September after his paternity leave.

Emotionally announcing his radio departure, he said: “This is the last time I’m going to be doing this for 12 weeks, not that I’ve counted.

“I’m going to say…I don’t want to get upset, for the last time – goodbye and I will chat to you all in September.

“I’m getting emotional, who would have thought?”

Announcing his last Six O’Clock show before his paternity leave, he said: “And Just Like That, MIC drop Brian OUT.
