Funeral details for GAA legend Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh announced
Mr Ó Muircheartaigh was the voice of Gaelic games for decades, commentating on matches in both Irish and English.
Mr Ó Muircheartaigh will be reposing at O’Connor’s Funeral Home in Dingle on Friday, June 28 from 11am to 8pm.
His funeral mass will take place at 11am on Saturday, June 29 in St Mary’s Church Dingle, followed by burial in Milltown Cemetery.

The death notice says that Mr Ó Muircheartaigh is “sadly missed” by his wife Helena, his children Éamonn, Niamh, Aonghus, Cormac, Neasa, Nuala, Éadaoin, and Doireann, his grandchildren, his sisters Kathleen and Máire, and all his relatives and friends.
He is predeceased by his brothers Pádraig, Náis and Dónal and sisters Siobhán and Eibhlín.
Mr Ó Muircheartaigh retired in 2010, with Cork’s win over Down in the championship decider his last All-Ireland final.
He was born in 1930 in Dún Síon, outside Dingle and worked as a teacher before embarking on his distinguished broadcasting career.
