CLEVELAND (WJW) — There’s growing anticipation that a Northeast Ohio native could hear his name called during the 2024 NBA Draft which is being held Wednesday night and Thursday.
University of Akron alum Enrique Freeman’s draft stock has seen a serious rise over the past month, Fox 8’s John Sabol said.
Freeman played for Cleveland’s St. Martin De Porres High School.
The 6′ 7″ power forward had an impressive daft combine with Cleveland, and has since worked out for a dozen NBA teams.
He worked out for the Cavs last year before deciding to keep playing college basketball, and the Cavs have continued to scout him.
Freeman said being selected by his hometown team would be a perfect match.
It would be like a dream come true,” Freeman said.
