Creighton Men’s Basketball Announces Non-Conference Schedule

OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton men’s basketball team will play seven home games, three games at the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas and face a return trip to Alabama as part of its 2024-25 non-conference schedule announced on Thursday, June 27.

Highlighting the non-conference schedule is a Big 12 – BIG EAST Battle contest against Kansas set for December 4th. It’ll mark the ninth time Creighton has played the Jayhawks in Omaha, but first time since 1951. KU is listed as the top-ranked team in early preseason polls by both ESPN.com and CBSSports.com, one spot ahead of Alabama.

Creighton will open the regular-season with five consecutive home games, starting with a Nov. 6 contest vs. UTRGV. The homestand continues with Fairleigh Dickinson (Nov. 10), Houston Christian (Nov. 13) and UMKC (Nov. 16) before wrapping up with a Nov. 22 game against Nebraska. The series against the Cornhuskers has been played at least once each season since 1977.

Creighton heads to Las Vegas for three games during Thanksgiving week in the inaugural edition of the Players Era Festival. The Bluejays open play in that event on Nov. 26th against Oregon in a rematch of CU’s double-overtime NCAA Tournament win in March. The Ducks are coached by former Bluejay head coach Dana Altman.

Other teams in the Players Era Festival include San Diego State, Texas A&M, Alabama, Houston, Notre Dame and Rutgers.

Following its Dec. 4 game vs. Kansas, Creighton hosts UNLV on Dec. 7th. It’ll be the fifth meeting in the series against the Runnin’ Rebels, but first match-up in Omaha.

Creighton closes non-conference play on Dec. 14 with a trip to Alabama. The Bluejays defeated the Crimson Tide 85-82 last season in Omaha, but Alabama returns the majority of its team that reached last season’s Final Four.

The 20-game conference schedule for Creighton’s 12th season in the BIG EAST is expected to be released in September. The 2025 BIG EAST Tournament is scheduled for March 12-15 and will once again be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Creighton’s exhibition schedule  has not yet been announced.

The season ticket renewal deadline is tomorrow (Friday, June 28th). New season tickets, if available, will be on sale later in July, while single-game tickets typically go on sale in October. For more information about tickets to Bluejay basketball visit GoCreighton.com/tickets or by call the Creighton ticket office at 402-280-JAYS (5297).

Coached by Greg McDermott, Creighton finished the 2023-24 season with a 25-10 record, tied for second in the BIG EAST Conference, and reached the program’s third Sweet 16 in the last four years.
