WATCH: Ballylanders ‘in transition’ heading into this year’s senior football championship
BALLYLANDERS footballers are heading into the Irish Wire Products Ltd County Senior Football Championship as a team in transition after losing some of their veteran players this season.
The team is in the process of bringing younger players through the ranks ahead of their opening game against St Kieran’s on Saturday, June 29 at 7:30pm at Ballyagran.
Speaking at the launch of the 2024 senior football championship Ballylanders footballer Tom O’Dwyer stated that the squad is in a period of “transition.”
“The league allowed us to try out a few young players as we have lost a good few lads from last season, we are pretty much building a new team at the moment and we are in a bit of a transition period but we are quietly confident in ourselves. It can be difficult to mix the younger and older lads together but we have had a good few challenge games that has allowed us to gel.”
