KJ Lewis returns to El Paso to host youth basketball camp

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Current Arizona Wildcat and former Chapin High standout, KJ Lewis, made a return to El Paso to host a youth basketball camp on Friday.

The current guard at the University of Arizona attended Chapin High School from 2019 to 2022 before transferring to Duncanville later that fall. Lewis graduated as a Panther in the spring of 2023, prior to heading to Tucson.

Despite not closing out his high school career in the Sun City, Lewis still cherishes his time here and wanted to give back to the community as a thank you for their consistent support.

“All of these kids, they supported me my three years at Chapin, they always showed me love,” Lewis said. “So, why not come back to this city that showed me love, where I’m from and give back. I used to be in their shoes too and look up to people who were where I’m at now. I just to be that outlet for them, for them to have fun and show them the fundamentals of the game.”

This marked Lewis’ second annual camp in El Paso, with more to come in the future.
