Tayto issue urgent crisp recall over ‘fragments of golf ball’ in some packets
Tayto has issued a product recall for certain flavours of crisps after fragments of a golf ball were discovered in a few packets.
On Friday evening, the globally renowned crisp brand released a statement explaining that the golf ball fragments are believed to have “inadvertently been harvested” with Tayto potatoes, resulting in a batch that could pose health risks if eaten, reports the Irish Mirror.
Both cheese and onion and salt and vinegar flavour crisps with specific best-before dates and packet sizes have been recalled.

A spokesperson for the iconic crisp brand stated: “Tayto Snacks is issuing a voluntary product recall. Fragments of a golf ball were found to be present in a small number of packs. We believe this material may have inadvertently been harvested with our potatoes.”
They further added: “This precautionary recall has been initiated in the best interests of our consumers and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
“We are working closely with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and with our customers to ensure the potentially affected product is no longer available for purchase.”
