Slow traffic at the Tyne Tunnel

There is the usual slow traffic on A19 Northbound at the Tyne Tunnel in Jarrow, South Tyneside.

Travel time is ten minutes.

A1 has now re-opened

The A1 Western Bypass Southbound was closed due to overrrunning roadworks.

It has now re-opened and traffic has returned to normal.

This AA map shows the area of the A1 impacted by the roadworks.

It has affected traffic on the southbound carriageway near the Metrocentre in Gateshead.

The dark red line indicates extremely slow traffic.

A1 closed due to overrunning roadworks

The A1 Western Bypass Southbound is currently closed due to overrunning roadworks from J69 A692 Lobley Hill Road (Dunston Interchange) to J66 A167 Durham Road (Bowes Incline / Angel Of The North).

The works were due to finish at 6am.

Haymarket Metro station exit only

Customers are currently unable to board Metro trains at Haymarket station as it is exit only.

They have been urged use Monument of Central Station to board trains in Newcastle city centre.

Gaps in service on the Metro

There are gaps in service on the green and yellow Metro lines this morning due to train availability.
