A Place in the Sun viewers rage at ‘absolute time wasting’ brothers
A Place In The Sun viewers weren’t at all impressed with the latest pairing trying to buy on the popular property search show.
Fans of the hit Channel 4 series laid into a “time-wasting” brothers as they went looking for a home on the Spanish coast. The latest edition of the long-running show featured Mark and Simon, who were shown around by expert Craig Rowe and all seems to be going very well as the siblings took in the sights and the brilliant location.
The duo explained that they are living in caravan alongside their mum after selling up back home and told how they were determined to make a go of things in Spain – but they have struggled to find somewhere suitable to put down roots. They fixed their budget of £225,000 and were determined to stick to it.
So when a “breathtaking” property came in with a price of £218,000 – even boasting its own swimming pool – viewers thought they would snap it up. But frustration soon grew when they made an offer of £180,000 – almost £40,000 less that what the owner marketed it at.
Needless to say their cheeky bid was knocked back and despite all they had to say about the home, they played hard ball and would not go a penny over what they had offered. That didn’t go down well with those watching along as they were accused of playing games by viewers.
One said on X: “Hope they end up staying in the caravan they’re so awkward!” before another echoed: “What a bunch of time wasters.. live in your caravan… suits you better.” A third wrote: “Hate to say it, but if I found myself in my 50s living in a caravan with my mum, then I’d be questioning my life choices.”
They certainly aren’t the only people accused of time wasting. Earlier this year, Jeanette and Phil searched for a place on the Greek island of Crete with a budget of £170,000. It appeared to be a risky move from the off with the pair confessing they’d never actually visited the island before, but had heard it was a good place to start a new relaxed life.
However, as they started to reel off a long list of demands, alarm bells started going off for viewers at home. The couple mentioned they required their potential new property to be big enough for friends and family to visit, but this request wasn’t met with open arms by those at home.
One user on social media user slammed the couple, saying: “I don’t get this thing of everyone’s family coming over at the same time? F*** that.” Another seemingly agreed, adding: “They want a fr***in palace for all their family.” As the search went on and the couple were shown five potential properties, the couple ended up making a “cheeky” offer as the show closed. However, their attempts were rebuffed and they left empty handed, leaving fans frustrated once more.
