A Place in the Sun’s Laura Hamilton reveals her future on This Morning
Laura Hamilton has opened up about her future on This Morning after her dating show was brutally scrapped by ITV last year.
The presenter, who is best known for her role hosting A Place in the Sun, has also had a number of of guest roles on the daytime show.
The star was filming a holiday dating segment over in Barbados for This Morning last year.
However the series was axed after an ITV This Morning staff member reportedly had an inappropriate relationship with a spin-off show contestant forcing the launch of an internal inquiry.
Yet while the dating show didn’t work out, Laura has confirmed to The Sun that she is still very much still a member of the This Morning family and her absence from the show recently is purely because it doesn’t fit her schedule.
Speaking to the publication, she said: ‘I love This Morning, I was only filming last week one of their competitions and I’ve got bits and pieces I’m always putting forward to them.
‘They have asked me to do a few bits and pieces but I haven’t been available for it. I done the marathon that took up a lot of my time and obviously I’ve been filming the new series of A Place in the Sun.
‘It’s not that This Morning haven’t asked me to do anything I’ve just not been available, which has been frustrating.’
Laura’s dating show pilot was axed after the accused reportedly had a fling with a participant on the show.
Since the incident the member of staff accused is said to have quit the show.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said at the time: ‘Bosses were furious when it came to their attention that a producer had an affair with the contestant, especially in light of this year’s This Morning scandal and controversy.
‘It meant that there was another investigation into what happened in Barbados that had to be carried out.
‘It was disappointing to senior members of staff. The producer promptly resigned.’
An ITV Spokesperson said: ‘We are unable to comment on the details of any specific employment-related matters. ITV sets out and upholds very clear policies with regards to raising concerns and work-related conduct amongst our people.’
Meanwhile Laura continues to front A Place In The Sun and is a fan favourite presenter of the show.
Last month the star opened up about what the ‘hardest part’ of filming the Channel 4 property show is, having worked on the series since 2012.
As the experts continue to house hunt with a new batch of sun-seeking Brits, it also means they have to be away from home for long periods of time during filming.
Speaking to GB News, Laura revealed: ‘Sometimes missing out on family events, being away with work.
‘That’s probably the biggest sort of compromise I’ve sort of had to make.’
But, she also gushed about her time on the beloved programme and went into detail about what she enjoys about it.
The presenter said: ‘The fact that we go back and we revisit people, you know that you’re making a big difference in somebody’s life when they’re filming the show with you.
‘But then when you actually go back and revisit it just to see really how things have changed. That’s pretty special.’
