A Spurs fan’s perspective on the NBA Finals

I have enjoyed this NBA postseason. As previously mentioned, I find myself observing who the Spurs will need to be dominate in the coming years while reestablishing their dynasty.

OKC and Minnesota are both young teams with budding superstars that promise to continue to elevate their game over time.

This year, both Boston and Dallas are there.

As ridiculous as it sounds, Boston is in a must win Finals. If they lose, as they did in 2022, it will be a sign that this is not the line-up to achieve their goal. With 64 wins and the top rated offense, there doesn’t seem to be much room for improvement, but with Porzingis’ health and availability in the balance, Boston may have an exposed weakness for Dallas to attack.

Dallas comes into the Finals with Luka Doncic in his prime. Paired with Kyrie, they are one of the most prolific backcourts. The additions of Daniel Gafford and P. J. Washington were game changers for them. They have a coach whose won a title (and lost a few) and has keen insight into the game.

This is going to be a great series.
