Aaron and Alvin Jones Jr. host annual football and basketball camp
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Less than 24 hours after wrapping up their charity softball game, Aaron and Alvin Jones Jr. were back out on the field – this time a football field – to host their annual youth football camp on Friday.
The Jones’ brothers put their competitive difference aside from the night prior and headed to their old stomping grounds, Burges High School to host the A&A All the Way camp.
There the pair of brothers looked to help the youth improve their football skills for the 7th year in a row, cost free.
They didn’t go empty handed as they brought NFL running back Tyler Goodson in addition to UTEP alum and Seattle Seahawks rookie Tyrice Knight to help out. Those are just two to name a few.
In doing so Aaron hopes that the young participants will not only look up to him, but to these other athletes as well to be positive influences in their lives.
“I’m no different from them,” said Aaron. “Once I’ve lived here, I’ve traveled the same streets. I went to the same schools, same grocery stores, everything. My life is here in El Paso, and I’ve. I’ve been in their shoes before. You see it? You can touch it. You feel like you can attain it. And that’s what I that’s all I want these kids to know. That’s another reason I brought out the athletes from various sports so they can see them as well.”
For the second year in a row the foundation also put on a basketball camp lead by NBA veteran and current Indiana Pacer, George Hill.
