Afghanistan cricketer Gulbadin Naib has made headlines after seemingly wasting time during his side’s thrilling T20 World Cup Super Eight win over Bangladesh on Tuesday.

With rain threatening, Gulbadin went down at a critical juncture in the match with what at the time appeared to be a hamstring injury. Afghanistan, however, later claimed he suffered from cramps.

The incident came just when Bangladesh had fallen behind the par DLS score in their run-chase. A victory for Afghanistan would send them through to the semi-finals, while a victory for Bangladesh would have seen Australia qualify instead.
