Aggressive while intoxicated to security, shoppers and gardaí in Kildare shopping centre

A man from Monasterevin was fined for being aggressive while intoxicated to security, shoppers and gardaí in a County Kildare shopping centre.

Details of the case involving Scott Hurley, with an address listed as 15 Mill Street Avenue in Monasterevin, were detailed at Naas District Court on Thursday, June 13 last.

Gardaí told Judge Desmond Zaidan that on May 20 last, the 26-year-old was intoxicated inside the Whitewater Shopping Centre in Newbridge.

According to gardaí, he was acting ‘in an aggressive and insulting manner’ to members of security and nearby shop-goers.

He also threatened gardaí when he was eventually confronted by them.

It was heard that Mr Hurley has three previous convictions, two of which are for public order offences.

Judge Zaidan fined Mr Hurley €650.

The judge gave him three months to pay this fine.
