Aidan O’Brien pulls three out of the Oaks as final field declared and draw made

AIDAN O’BRIEN has pulled three horses out of the Epsom Oaks at the final declaration stage.

But the market is still headed by his star filly Ylang Ylang as one of two Ballydoyle horses remaining.

O’Brien did not declare Opera Singer – who finished third in last weekend’s Irish 1000 Guineas – Everlasting and Buttons.

But he did leave in his only other runner Rubies Are Red, who is 3-1 second-favourite behind 2-1 market leader Ylang Ylang, who was drawn widest of all in stall 12.

O’Brien’s trio were the only ones to come out on Thursday morning meaning 12 fillies will head to post at 4.30pm on Friday.

Dermot Weld will saddle the 7-2 third-favourite in the form of Ezeliya, who will break from a plum position in stall five.

While Sun Racing columnist Andrew Balding looks to have a live chance with 8-1 chance and recent Musidora winner Secret Satire, who goes from stall three.

Ralph Beckett has left four in the race including King Charles and Queen Camilla’s Treasure, who has been smashed in the betting and is now just a 16-1 chance.

He also saddles 10-1 Forest Fairy, 16-1 You Got To Me and huge outsider Seaward.

O’Brien and the Gosdens have dominated the Oaks in recent years but the John and Thady father-son duo will not have a runner this season.

They won it last year with Soul Sister, who was ridden by Frankie Dettori.

But the remainder of the field this year is made up with Charlie Appleby’s Dance Sequence, Noel Meade’s Caught U Looking, Karl Burke’s Making Dreams and David Menuisier’s War Chimes.
