Alesha Dixon left embarrassed as BGT star lets slip truth in awkward blunder

A Britain’s Got Talent star was left embarrassed tonight when he made a huge mistake live on air.

Tonight, magician Trixy took to the stage to perform a special magic act to try and secure himself a place in the live final on Sunday. During tonight’s trick, he needed to get the judges involved and borrowed Amanda Holden’s phone.

He also asked Bruno Tonioli what time he woke up to put the number into the calculator, before he went to chat to Alesha Dixon and asked her to give a specific number – of how many people he thought was in the audience. However, as he asked her how she was, he seemingly let slip that she had pre-recorded her performance for tonight.

Alesha will take to the stage this evening to perform a new track as a special guest star for the last semi-final of the week. However, Trixy’s comment didn’t go unnoticed and fans pointed out the error on Twitter.

“The magician giving away that Alesha has pre-recorded her performance #BGT #BritainsGotTalent,” one wrote, whilst another added: “Did we miss Alesha’s performance? #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”

Alesha will perform this evening as part of a stellar line-up of acts all week, which has included the cast of Frozen the musical as well as the cast of The Lion King and brand new musical & Juliet.

She is making a return to the music scene with her new song Ransom. Speaking about how she feels about being back in music, Alesha told Rolling Stone: “Well, I want to be back as Alesha Dixon the artist.

“I’ve been recording throughout the years, but hadn’t felt quite ready to release anything for a multitude of reasons. One of them being the fact that I’m an independent artist now and it’s very expensive to put out music, and the industry is very tricky. The business aspect of it is what has put me off going down that road again. I just haven’t got time to play the music industry games and, you know, trying to compete for chart positions with artists that are signed to major labels.”

She added: “The whole thing puts me off, but the love and the desire of making music has never faded. What made me change my mind this time round was feeling like I’d written a song where it sort of just aligned with how I was feeling. It just felt more authentic to me, and I felt more confident to put it out. There’s also just that feeling of life is too short. I just wanted to feel like I could put something out into the world, regardless of the industry, regardless of the expectations, the business, the money.”
