All the brilliant images as Taylor Swift fans descend on Edinburgh for Eras Tour
While there’s still more than a week before Taylor Swift brings her Eras Tour to Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, the Tortured Poets Department star is opening her UK 2024 gig run with three nights in Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium this weekend. And fans have already been flocking to the Scottish capital to get their best spots at the gig and snap up new merchandise ahead of time.
With scenes sure to be replicated outside the Principality on June 18, one super Swiftie travelled 14 hours by bus to be first in the queue. Ellie Poulter, 19 travelled 360 miles from Oxfordshire to ensure she can be the first in line to see the star. Get your limited edition Taylor Swift OK! glossy mag here.

Not content with spending 14 hours on a coach, Ellie has even been camping outside venue which has temporarily re-branded its Scottish Gas sponsorship to ‘Scottish Lass’. Ellie told Daily Record: “I think I’m the first person to start camping – there’s just nobody here.
“I thought people were going to camp because people were queuing for the Paris shows for two nights. So I thought I was going to be camping for like a week before, but nobody else has ended doing that so I thought two days would be fine to camp for that long.
“I’ve got a tent and I’ve took a duvet and that’s it apart from my clothes – I have nothing and I didn’t come prepared at all. I’ve got a hotel for the night of the show, so I’ll basically chuck everything in there and get ready, so I’ve got nothing on me.”
Other fans have also already flocked to Murrayfield Stadium with drone snaps showing long queues starting to form. Around 220,000 people are expected to attend Taylor’s sold-out show at the venue on Friday.
Speaking of the show, final preparations are currently being made for the stadium, where Taylor’s expected to perform iconic songs including All Too Well (10 Minute Taylor’s Version) and Cruel Summer. In preparation the Scottish capital has been transformed into Taylor town, with bagpipers ready to welcome the 34-year-old to Edinburgh with a special highland version of her hit song Love Story, reports the Mirror.
If you are yet to secure yourself a ticket, you can keep tabs on Ticketmaster and AXS for official tickets, as fans who no longer can attend may decide to resell their tickets.
On the other hand, you could try you luck on resale ticket platforms like Viagogo and VividSeats. These sites enable you to browse without rushing, as tickets listed by fellow enthusiasts stay accessible until they are purchased. However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.
Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double-check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale – such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation – to ensure a smooth live event experience. Tickets could be voided if they were found to be bought second-hand. As a result, fans are buying at their own risk. With that said, viagogo also commented: “Viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the guarantee.”
