Another expansion for PepsiCo as drinks giant continues investment into Cork

PepsiCo are planning to expand operations in Cork, with a proposal to expand its production and warehousing facilities at its Little Island base.

PepsiCo has applied for planning permission for a four-storey expansion to an existing production and warehouse building. The extension is to provide an additional 12,207 sqm floor space over four levels.




It’s the latest move in the drinks giant’s huge investment plans for the Cork site.

Just last year, the billion-dollar beverage brand finished its €127M expansion of its Research and Development facilities in Little Island. Months later, it announced another €39 million expansion for the Irish base to keep up with increased business demand.

The company, which produces concentrates for global drinks brands including Pepsi, 7Up and Mountain Dew, now employs more than 1,250 people across Ireland. More than 640 people work on-site in Cork.

PepsiCo is celebrating 50 years in Cork this year. Its first concentrate manufacturing plant was opened in Little Island with just 30 employees in 1974.
