Arthur ‘adamant’ to hit milestone with baby Blake but fans say she’s ‘too young’

ARTHUR Gourounlian has revealed the major milestone he’s “adamant” to reach with baby Blake – but fans told him “she’s too young”.

The Dancing With The Stars judge and his Six O’Clock Show host husband Brian Dowling welcomed their daughter Blake into the world back in September 2022.

And the happy pair are set to have a busy household this summer as they announced they will also be expecting their second child this July.

Admist the chaos of getting prepared for their new arrival, Arthur has told followers that he has began to potty train baby Blake.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Arthur shared a video of himself and Blake opening their new training potty.

As they unwrapped the packaging Arthur said :”Guys, this summer we are opening the potty because daddy is adamant that he wants to potty train this little monster.”

As he finished talking, Blake hysterically held up the potty and started squealing causing Arthur to erupt into a fit of laughter.

As he put the new potty down on the floor, he asked Blake: “Okay, here’s the new potty do you want to sit on it? Come on, let’s try.”

The little one humorously walked over to the potty, closed the toilet lid and started to tap her hand on top of the potty.

Arthur let out at big laugh and popped open the lid again – but Blake was quick to close it down over him again and say “no”.

The 44-year-old then joked: “Well, daddy good lucky training her this summer.”

Another clip showed the little one sitting up on the potty and beaming while Arthur jokingly shouted “yay, we did it, she’s potty trained, yay!”

However, it wasn’t long before Blake stood up closed the lid and banged on the potty again.

Arthur beckoned her to pretend to “flush the toilet” and once she pressed the button he exclaimed “Oh my god, you are just the best girl”.

The dad-of-one then wrote in his caption: “Hello, you gorgeous people. Happy Monday, happy new day, happy new week and happy new adventures. Who said potty training was hard? LET’S DO THIS.”

Fans and friends all flocked to the Instagram comments to share their honest advice when it came to potty training.

Olive wrote: “Be careful with the new baby coming, don’t try too much with her, shes still very young for the potty.”

Sheila said: “She’s too young yet. This time next year guys, she will be trained in a few days.”

Paula commented: “Best of luck with the potty training. She may be too young yet.”

ARTHUR HITS BACK AT TROLLS

By Rachel Wyer, Showbiz Reporter

Arthur and husband Brian earlier this year revealed daughter Blake would be getting a sibling – with Brian’s sister Aoife once again acting as surrogate for the pair.

But Arthur revealed how the trio decided to keep the second pregnancy offline this time round to avoid “backlash”.

Aoife made the decision to steer clear from social media during her second pregnancy due to the online abuse she received from the first time round.

Arthur explained: “The reason we kept quiet is because we had backlash. People were saying it’s wrong, why should we do surrogacy, it’s incest – educate yourself to understand what’s happening.

“It’s nothing to do with Aoife, she’s helping us and that’s the most beautiful thing. So we decided to not put her on social media because of the backlash.

“We can handle it, but she’s not doing it for fame, for money. She’s doing it for her brother and brother-in-law, to help us.”

The celebrity judge admitted that he is “strong-minded” so the nasty comments don’t affect him.

Arthur said: “I’m a strong-minded person, I have seen horror in my life, so those bad comments don’t affect me, they do affect maybe Brian but they don’t affect me.

“These people are not in my life, these people are not my friends, these people are nothing to do with what I’m doing right now.”

He described the comments as “horrible” and “shocking”, but said they’re “nothing” to him.

Arthur explained: “I have seen the worst, so those comments, what’s happening, they’re nothing to me.

“Who are you to tell me what to do. Who are you to tell me how to live my life. You’re nothing to me.”

And RTE 2FM host Carl Mullan joked: “Can I just say, there’s a few absolute bangers on YouTube when it comes to helping with this.”

Arthur’s husband Brian last week confirmed he’d be off air this summer, leaving his 98FM radio show for a stint of paternity leave.

He announced: “I am taking the summer off. I’ll be at home, full time Dad, with Blake and baby number two. I’m so looking forward to it.

“The guys here at 98FM have been so good. Normality will resume in September!”

Brian will be finishing up on 98FM on Friday, June 21, and won’t be on air until the middle of September.

TV personality and social media star James Patrice will be stepping up to fill in for Brian alongside Suzanne Kane for the summer.

Brian added: “I’ve honestly had the best time on 98FM doing the show. It’s been non stop.

“So being able to take the summer off and spend it at home with my two children… who would have thought I’d be saying that? So I’m so excited.”
