Aruba implements sustainability fee

Aruba has implemented a $20 sustainability fee per person for visitors arriving by air. This fee will support several projects aimed at improving sustainability on the island, including upgrading water treatment plants and infrastructure and building a new, larger plant.

The sustainability fee must be paid through the existing online Embarkation & Disembarkation (ED) card platform when completing the ED card process to enter Aruba. Payment options include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Western Union, iDeal, PayPal and Apple Pay. Visitors cannot pay cash upon arrival. Fees are refundable in case of travel cancellation.

Those exempt from the fee include children under 8 years old, repeat travelers who have already paid to visit Aruba within the same calendar year, travelers visiting for less than 24 hours and cruise ship passengers.
