Ashcrofts Mini Travel to join FlixBus network on 1 August – routeone
Ashcrofts Mini Travel of Leigh is another coach business that has agreed to become a FlixBus UK partner operator, for which it will add a pair of liveried Yutong GT12s.
The company’s involvement will lead to Hull being added to the FlixBus network. Ashcrofts will run two services between Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds, with one also serving York and the other operating to and from Hull.
Ashcrofts was established in 2006 and it has a broad church of work. In 2020, the business purchased Memory Lane Holidays and Travel. Engagement with FlixBus will represent the operator’s first involvement in scheduled coach services.
Speaking about the decision, Director Chris Ashcroft says: “We were keen to diversify our revenue streams and the opportunity to join FlixBus as a partner came at the perfect time, allowing us to venture into the express scheduled services market.
“FlixBus has impressed us with the way it truly partners with operators and the ambitious growth it has achieved. We are delighted to become a part of the Flix revolution. The team has provided a fantastic onboarding experience, so we are really positive about the relationship we are going to build.
“This partnership allows us to offer our customers even more travel options, connecting them to a wider network of destinations while maintaining our high standards of service.”
FlixBus UK Managing Director Andreas Schörling has welcomed Ashcrofts Mini Travel to the travel business’s list of partners.
“As a high-quality operator, the company shares our commitment to providing affordable and sustainable transport, and our passion for increasing connections between major cities and towns across the North of England,” says Mr Schörling.
