Auburn set to host fourth annual Coach William F. Huther Memorial Tennis Tournament

For a fourth straight year, the Coach William F. Huther Memorial Tennis Tournament is set to take place in Auburn from Aug. 17-18.

The men’s and women’s tournament, that takes place at Auburn High School’s tennis courts, honors the late Auburn High athletic hall of famer, Bill Huther.

The tournament consists of three doubles divisions for both women’s and men’s: Open, A and B. In the Open Division, $500 will be awarded to the men’s and women’s championship team. Second place will win $300 while third place will get $200.

Each division will max out at 16 teams and each duo is guaranteed at least two matches. To register, it is $50 per player for those 18 years old and under. For those 19 years old and up it is $75 per player.

Along with the tournament, the event raises money for the William F. Huther Memorial Scholarship at Auburn High School. The scholarship is awarded to two student athletes that plan on entering the field of education.
