Audemars Piguet Nods to the Brutalist Aesthetic With New [Re]MASTER02 Timepiecea

Audemars Piguet has recently unveiled two new exciting comebacks. The first introduces the [RE]Master02, which marks the long-awaited return of the [RE] Master collection following its debut four years ago. The second sees three new reiterations of the Royal Oak Mini, now reimagined for collectors and wearers today.

In the world of horology, the spotlight seems to be on sculptural and asymmetric timepieces lately. Whether AP may be riding onto the wave of reviving classics alongside unconventional pieces, both these launches are some of the more eye-catching ones from the Maison lately.

Releasing as a limited edition of 250 examples, the [RE]Master02 boasts an eye-catching asymmetrical case crafted from sand gold — AP’s new 18-carat gold alloy. Despite its unusual proportions, the watch measures only 41mm in diameter, housing a parted blue dial with parallel brush effects.

The two-hand wristwatch is powered by the self-winding Calibre 7129, capable of running continuously for up to 52 hours. Boasting a price tag of $47,200 USD, the timepiece is available for inquiry exclusively through the Maison.

As for the new miniature Royal Oak aka “Mini Oak,” the collection arrives in a choice of 18-carat yellow gold, white gold and pink gold. While the original made its premiere back in 1997 with a 20mm case size, this trio of new petite Royal Oaks debuts new dimensions, measuring 23mm in case width and is powered by a quartz movement

“These mini creations pay tribute not only to Audemars Piguet’s long tradition of miniature and jewelry watches but also to the women who have left their mark on the history of the brand, including Jacqueline Dimier to whom we owe the first Royal Oak for women and Carolina Bucci, the mastermind behind the Frosted Gold finish,” says Ilaria Resta, Audemars Piguet’s CEO.

All three colorways feature a frosted look and star the brand’s emblematic “Petite Tapisserie” dial, complete with a tonal handset and hour markers. The petite Royal Oak wristwatches are open for inquiry through the brand, with prices upon request.
