Ben Affleck meets up with ex Jennifer Garner for their son’s basketball game
BEN Affleck has reunited with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, for their 12-year-old son Samuel’s basketball game.
The recent spotting comes as the Gone Girl actor has reportedly been struggling in his marriage to singer Jennifer Lopez, 54.
Ben, 51, was seen trailing behind the 13 Going on 30 star, 52, and their preteen son.
The three were photographed while walking around Santa Monica, California, after Samuel’s basketball game.
The actor was photographed wearing a white T-shirt with a plaid button-up overtop, which he paired with blue jeans and sneakers.
Jennifer’s outfit for the day included a patterned shirt and jeans, which she completed with bulky sneakers and sunglasses.
Samuel wore a purple and yellow “Junior Lakers” jersey, black Nike shorts, and lime green sneakers.
He also held onto a basketball in one arm, as well as a water bottle and a bag of peanut M&Ms for some post-game fuel.
Ben appeared a bit tense in the shots, as Jennifer had her arm around their son and was seen talking to him.
The director was previously married to the Peppermint actress from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018.
Along with Samuel, the exes are also parents to two more children.
Ben is also a stepdad to his wife’s 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max, whom she shares with her ex Marc Anthony.
He married the singer, also known as JLo, in 2022, and just shy of their two-year anniversary, the two have been at the center of divorce rumors.
HEADING TO JEN’S
Last week, Ben was seen with Samuel once more as the two headed back to Jennifer’s house.
The film star flashed a rare smile in Brentwood, Los Angeles, as he and his son went on a casual walk together.
Samuel wore his pajamas for the short walk to his mom’s house, smiling as he talked to his dad and played with a frisbee.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck relationship timeline
JLo and Ben were first linked together in 2002 and became engaged later that year. However, they called off the wedding just two years later. They rekindled their romance in 2021 and finally got hitched in 2022. Here is a timeline of their love story:
Ben also kept it simple in a gray tee with a lightning bolt graphic and athletic shorts.
Days later, Ben went to his ex’s house once more to attend a graduation celebration for their daughter, Violet.
Jennifer also tagged along for the event, with the two appearing tense and unhappy in the shots taken of them upon arrival.
The pop star walked to the party with her head down, covering her face with her hair and large sunglasses.
The Argo director looked equally serious, frowning as he carried a gift basket into the house.
TROUBLE IN PARADISE?
Over the past few weeks, sources have claimed that Ben and Jennifer could potentially be headed for divorce after rekindling their romance.
“If there was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, [Ben] would,” one insider said.
“He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream and he’s come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work.”
Another source said Ben moved out of the $47 million mansion he shares with his JLo “several weeks ago.”
The two reportedly started having issues a few months ago as Jen’s busy schedule and tour preparation increased significantly.
One source close to the couple thinks a divorce is inevitable.
“It’s over; they’re headed for a divorce and for once [Ben’s] not to blame. He’s focusing on his work and kids now,” they told InTouch.
“They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”
On Friday, Jennifer revealed she canceled the upcoming shows on her This Is Me… Live Tour, informing fans she was going to focus on her family.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary,” she wrote in her newsletter.
“I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”
Live Nation confirmed the cancelation of the summer tour, which was set to begin June 26.
“Jennifer is taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends,” the statement read.
